The run which is USATF certified will be held at beautiful Wheaton Regional Park, on Sunday, May 17, 2009. The majority of the run and walk is on paved trails, with the remainder of the course on hard packed trails. The run takes you through the scenic park, with most of the course being in the shade. The run begins at 8:30 a.m. The 1 Mile, or optional 1.7 Mile Fun Walk begins at 8:40 a.m. Rain or shine
Although dogs can not participate in the run, they are more than welcome to come out and join the 1 mile walk.
Registration fee is $20.00 for the 5K Run and 1 Mile Fun Walk prior to May 1, 2009. Beginning May 1, 2009 the registration fee is $25.00, and $28.00 on the day of the race.
From the warm up, running and walking on the scenic trails, the dog and people raffles, the prizes, and the abundance of food, a good time will be had by all.
Monetary prizes will be given to the top 3 overall male and female finishers. Awards will also be given to the top team, and top male and female finishers in the following age categories: 13 and under, 14-19, 20-29, 30-39,40-49, 50-59, 60-69, and 70 and older.

There will be a pre-race warm up, lead by the Sergeant's Program, starting around 8:00 a.m. The run will begin at 8:30 a.m., with the walk beginning right afterwards.
After the race vegan refreshments will be served,and awards, as well as free dog and human raffles will be held. | 5/17/2009 |
