About Our Organization
Poplar Spring is a 400 acre non-profit refuge which provides a permanent home for over 200 formerly abused and abandoned farm animals and rehabilitated wildlife. The sanctuary assists humane societies throughout the country with cruelty cases, and provides a protected release site for previously injured or orphaned wildlife.
Not only does Poplar Spring give refuge to many animals in need, it is a premier education center. Children from across the region come to learn how to care for animals and why it is important to afford all animals respect and compassion.
Poplar Spring’s mission is to:
Offer care, rehabilitation, and permanent sanctuary for neglected, abandoned or unwanted farm animals.
Provide protected habitat for wildlife.
Furnish information to the public regarding farm animal and wildlife issues.
Promote compassion and humane treatment for all animals.
